  • Goodbye Blurry Photos

Don't let a not-so-steady hand prevent you from capturing the moment. Optical SteadyShot™ image stabilization uses a built-in gyro sensor to detect camera shake and automatically compensates to help prevent blur without sacrificing image quality.
  • Shoot Movies in HD

Nothing recreates the moment like razor-sharp, high definition video. Your movies will look stunning on YouTube™ and similar sites thanks to the 720p high-definition MPEG4 recording format. Record up to 29 minutes (or up to 2GB) per movie in 720p format.

A Smarter Auto Mode

Unlike traditional auto mode, Intelligent Auto (iAuto) mode thinks for you–recognizing scenes, lighting conditions and faces—and automatically adjusts the settings for you. The results are clear images, faces with natural skin tone and less blur.

  • Ultra-wide, 265-degree Panoramic Shots

Sweep Panorama Mode reaches beyond the traditional wide angle lenses to let you capture expansive, breathtaking shots of landscapes or skyscrapers. Just press the shutter and shoot the scene with a sweeping motion. The camera does the rest.
    • sweep panorama
  • Touch 'n' View

No more fussing with tiny buttons. Just tap the large, 3.0" (diag.) touch screen display to review your shots in vivid color and ultra-sharp contrast.
  • It's All About the Lens

The high-performance Carl Zeiss® Vario-Tessar® 4x optical zoom lens brings distant subjects closer for video recording as well as for outdoor, sports, and travel photos, and Close Focus shoots close-ups up to just under 1/2" from the subject. A wide angle of 25mm equivalent wide-angle lens allows you to take wider shots of the scene or group in crowded spaces.

Additionally, AVCHD™ version 2.0 standard 60p recording maximizes the range of creative options for movie-makers to explore.  Whether you’re shooting HD video or stills, Picture Effects add a new level of expression to content. Modes like Posterization, which creates a high contrast abstract look by heavily emphasizing primary colors or black and white; Retro Photo, which creates the look of an aged photo with sepia color tones and faded contrast; Pop Color, which produces a vivid look by emphasizing color tones; and Partial Color, which produces stunning monochrome photos containing a single designated color (red, green, blue or yellow) are just a few of the effects that make ordinary images and scenes come to life.

Superior audio has always been a crucial part of the E-mount Handy cam camcorder lineup. A unique Capsule Spatial Array Microphone features four omnidirectional capsules that supports stereo or 5.1 channel surround. Recording levels are adjustable. The new Multi Interface Shoe provides compatibility with accessories including the optional XLR-K1M adapter kit that adds a high-quality mono shotgun mic and two pro-standard XLR connections.
